Our Mission:

Leadership Tomorrow is a community leadership program with the mission to equip and challenge the next generation to get involved and shape the future and direction of the community’s potential.

About Leadership Tomorrow:

Leadership Tomorrow, originally Leadership Danville, was created in 1989 to assist emerging community leaders preparing for leadership positions in local government and community affairs. Community leaders stand up and face the complex issues of today’s world while thoughtfully planning for future generations. Leadership Tomorrow has developed leaders in this courageous pursuit for more than 30 years. Participants can expect to:

  • Receive community leadership development through mentoring.
  • Establish a strong network of professional relationships.
  • Cultivate a commitment to get involved in the community.
  • Build pride in Vermilion County
  • June 8-11: Solution Summit 9am-4pm
  • June 12: Amazing Race 8am-4pm
  • July 16: Business & Industry 8am-3pm
  • August 13-16: Police Ride-Alongs (Optional)
  • August 17: PSB Tour 5-9pm
  • August 20: Criminal Justice 8am-4pm
  • September 17: Education/Healthcare 8am-3pm
  • October 14: Graduation Day 1pm-8pm

• A willingness to accept civic and leadership roles upon graduation
• A willingness to commit time and energy to the future of Vermilion County.
• An awareness of community issues, problems and opportunities.
• A desire for personal growth opportunities.
• Must live or work in Vermilion County.

  • Minimum of 80 percent class attendance, totaling 38 hours
  • 100 percent mentor participation, totaling 12 hours
  • 100 percent completion of volunteer service, totaling 60 hours
  • Commitment to serve on a community, philanthropic, or social board or to run for public office following graduation
  •  
  • To develop capable community leaders inspired to creatively solve problems and plan for the future of our community. 
  • To develop in participants an awareness of the community, its problems, challenges, and opportunities, through an educational process. 
  • To assist participants in assuming leadership roles in the community through volunteer and mentor opportunities. 
  • To develop and ensure the continuation of a network of community leaders accessible to service and non-profit organizations.
  • To provide the participants the opportunity to network.
