The City of Danville Public Works Department is seeking a reliable and dependable person to join the team!
The City Electrician coordinates, constructs, maintains, and upgrades electrical systems and related City infrastructure, including traffic control devices, street lighting, lift stations, public buildings, park facilities, and ESDA sirens. The position also identifies traffic-related conditions and recommends or completes equipment improvements as needed.
Normal Work Hours: Full-time position, M – Th, 6:30am-4:30pm

The following examples are illustrative of the work duties and responsibilities.
• Coordinate, construct, and maintain electric traffic control devices and City street lights.
• Assists with construction and maintenance of lift stations, public buildings, facilities, and grounds including public parks.
• Assist in the development of capital improvements program.
• Be available and on call. Must carry a city cell phone for electrical emergency callouts.

• High School diploma or equivalent from a recognized educational institution.
• Moderate understanding and experience as an electrician or in a closely related field.
• Must show growing levels of understanding in the first ninety (90) days of employment.
• Illinois Class B CDL Vehicle Operators License.
• Electrical License or ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment.
Employees of the City must establish their principal residence within forty-five (45) miles of the City of Danville corporate limits within six (6) months following successful completion of their probationary period.
