The City Of Danville Public Works Department is seeking a reliable and dependable person to join our team! 

The ideal individual will perform general maintenance, construction, and other improvements in various City owned streets, grounds, and rights-of-ways, ensuring proper operation and adherence to safety regulations.

Wage / Salary: $27.53/Hour
Duties / Responsibilities:

The following examples are illustrative of the work duties and responsibilities of this position.

  • Operating heavy equipment.
  • Move, load, unload, transport, and deliver various equipment, goods, and materials.
  • Clean and check all vehicles, equipment, and garage facilities as necessary.
  • Perform solid waste collections.
Days per week: Monday - Thursday
Shift: 1st Shift
Qualifications:

Employees must possess a basic knowledge of the following skill sets along with the ability to demonstrate an improvement in these skills within thirty (30) days of their start date.

  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Demonstrate effective communication.
  • Growing knowledge of solid waste activities and routes.
  • Proficient in operating end-loaders, snow plow trucks, excavators, refuse trucks, grapple trucks, sweepers, dump trucks, skid steers, and backhoes.
