Make a difference in young children’s lives! As an Early Learning Center Teacher, you will create a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for children ages 15 months to 5 years old. You will support social, cognitive, and physical development through hands-on, creative activities that build social, cognitive, and physical skills. Responsibilities and Duties
Duties include but are not limited to:
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly classroom environment.
Conduct assessments and screenings to monitor children's developmental progress.
Implement assigned curriculum and develop age-appropriate lessons for children ages 15 months to 5 years.
Organize, prepare, and maintain teaching materials for classroom activities.
Follow all health and safety protocols.
Job Requirements:
Be at least 19 years of age and have a high school diploma or equivalency certificate (GED) in addition, the early childhood teacher shall have achieved: 1. An Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, or 60 semester hours: with at least 6 semester hours in Early Childhood. 2. The completion of a Child Development credentialing program. CDA credential of 120 hours of professional development courses along with a portfolio. 3. An Associate or Baccalaureate degree with at least 6 semester hours in Early Childhood. 4. A combination of approved hours of experience and education: One year (1,560 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center and 30 semester hours of credits from an accredited college or university with six semester hours in courses related directly to childcare and/or child development, from birth to age six.
On year of work experience in human services, child development, or related field preferred.
Knowledge of DCFS licensing.
