This position reports directly to the Dean of Arts & Sciences. The Criminal Justice Instructor will provide instruction in the criminal justice field, develop curriculum, syllabus, assessment of program and course learning outcomes and provide instructional materials and personal insight to provide students with the most optimum opportunity to learn in the criminal justice program.
Position requires: At least five years of experience as a police officer or in a criminal justice related field. Earned master’s degree in criminal justice, justice administration, criminology, law enforcement, homeland security, or a closely related field. Ability to work with local and regional law enforcement agencies to promote internships and employment. A genuine interest in student development and mentoring. Please note, a juris doctorate without extensive and recent law enforcement experience is not an appropriate degree for this position.
