International Union of Operating Engineers Local 841

IUOE Local 841 is a progressive trade union that represents heavy equipment operators in the construction and aggregate industries. We believe in the rights of workers to expect a fair days pay for a days work. We believe that skilled labor is much more efficient and also provides a safer work environment on every job.

Local 841 covers 19 counties in east central Illinois and 17 counties in west central Indiana with our main office in Terre Haute Indiana and satellite offices in Oakwood Illinois and Vincennes Indiana.

Local 841 has a state of the art indoor training facility located in Universal Indiana. There our highly trained instructors help our members keep up with certifications varying from OSHA, MSHA, forklift, cranes, HAZ-MAT, GPS and more. We have a lot of newer equipment equipped with the latest technology so our members are able to train and keep up with the fast changing world and keep their skills on point.

Local 841 takes new apprentices every year to keep our membership numbers up so we can meet the demands of our contractors. Apprentice applications are accepted once per year in the month of January. Applications can be picked up at any of our offices or our training facility.
