Free Fishing Day’s June 17-20 – This event was established in 1985 to offer a chance for anglers to fish without the need of a fishing license.  The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announces “No Fishing Licenses” required June 17-20, including the Inland Trout Stamp & the Lake Michigan Salmon Stamp.

Kickapoo Rail Trail Duathlon at Kickapoo State Park – (10906 Kickapoo Park Rd., Oakwood) Registration & packet pick up 6:30-7:15AM, Competitive Duathlon & Competitive Relay 8AM; Fun Duathlon & Fun 5K 8:15AM.  All proceeds will benefit the ongoing development of the Kickapoo Rail Trail from Kickapoo State Park to Urbana, Illinois.  To Register visit, www.active.com or contact Cycles Plus at 217-442-3214. 

All You Care To Eat Breakfast at Danville VFW #728 – (8 Pine St., Danville) Eggs scrambled, over easy or your way, French toast, pancakes, potatoes, white gravy, sausages, bacon, biscuits, orange juice, coffee; 7:00-9:30AM.  Price is $6 with carry outs available.

Danville Farmers Market – The outdoor market is held on the Danville Public Library lawn & adjacent parking lot featuring locally grown produce, home-baked goods, & homemade gift items; 8AM-1PMLibrary activities include: Fun sugar activity with the Health Vermilion County Coalition; an informational booth about Child & Family Connections; a Medix ambulance; & crafts & stories featuring Charlie & the Chocolate Factory; 9AM-1PM.  The main market season will run Wednesdays & Saturdays until October 15.

Spring Fling at the Georgetown Community Center Friday & Saturday – (220 E. West St., Georgetown)  The Georgetown Mural Committee presents this 2-day event with 29 vendors selling a variety of products, bake sale, Cookbook sale, & a 50/50 gift basket raffle; 8AM-4PM

Vermilion County Museum’s “Drivin’ the Dixie” – We will meet in the City Hall parking lot in downtown Danville to drive the old Dixie highway from Danville to Momence.  Registration begins at 9AM & Cars depart at 10AM.  Registration is Free with participants receiving a passport to be stamped at each stop for a chance to win a gas card.  For more information, call 217-442-2922.

Adopt-A-Senior Event for Father’s Day Event Saturday – Sunday – Neighbor Love is sponsoring this event to 3 local Nursing homes, Please RSVP to donate or volunteer at www.adoptasenior.net.  Opportunities to visit Saturday: Danville Care Center or North Logan Health Care Center; 9:30-11:00AM or Sunday: Gardenview Manor; 2:45-4:00PM.

Vermilion County War Museum New Hours – (307 N. Vermilion, Danville) New extended hours: Tuesday through Friday Noon–4PM; Saturday remains 10AM-4PM.  As a Blue Star Museum all active duty military & their families are admitted for Free, Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Sleepy Creek Vineyard – (Located 3.5 miles south of Oakwood) Winery Open 10AM-8PM.
