Shipping and receiving clerks must be experts in their company's products and services and how merchandise should be stored.  Orgainzation is a must in keeping items stocked on shelves for quick and easy retrieval.  Deliveries could come at any given time or things could be shipped out as well.  It is the Shipping and Receiving Clerk's responsibility to insure that items are packaged properly for shipping and items received are categorized in a timely manner.

  • Be able to track incoming and outgoing packages
  • Deliver necessary items requested by various departments in a timely manner as available
  • Understand different types of parts and/or merchandise you could be shipping out or receiving
  • Be able to stand on feet for long periods of time
  • Ability to build crates for shipping purposes


  • 1 year experience with shipping and receiving is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent organization skills are necessary
  • Be able to follow instruction with a pleasant attitude
  • Strong communication skills needed due to dealing with customers, vendor, co-workers
  • Ability ot use heavy equipment (i.e.: hyster) to move merchandise as needed
  • Good comprehension on parts and directions when given information on what is needed
  • Ability to lift no less than 50 lbs. properly without injury
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen at any given time
  • Some basic computer skills would be helpful
  • Some construction/building experience would be a plus
  • Dependability is a must.
