Description:
Uses best laboratory practices and procedures to perform job.
Sets up, adjusts and operates laboratory equipment and instruments such as centrifuge, agitators, viscometer, chemical balance, spectrophotometer, gas chromatograph, colorimeter, and other equipment.
Tests materials using company Standard Operating Procedures, specifications, laboratory testing methods, etc.
Performs tests for incoming raw materials, in-process samples, and final products to ensure materials are within established specifications.
Records all results and calculations in the laboratory record book, forms, and computer.
Cleans, sterilizes, and maintains all laboratory equipment according to company and manufacturer's recommendations.
Calibrates and verifies laboratory instrumentation and equipment.
Prepares standard chemical solutions according to formulations.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or equivalent from college or technical school; or six months to one year related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have high school diploma or GED.
Ability to perform algebra and basic chemistry.
Ability to read and interpret written and numerical information; ability to write routine reports; ability to understand science terminology.
Ability to report to work consistently and on time.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively to provide accurate, precise and thorough information in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work with limited supervision.
Familiar with Microsoft Windows.
Vision ability includes close vision and color vision.
Must pass drug screening prior to employment.
