Essential Job Requirements: Must pass Silgan Containers' Press Mechanic Tests. Education: High school or equivalent. Will Consider a 2 year Technical Degree. Required Skills: Mechanical aptitude and proficient with all tools of the trade preferred, but will train qualified candidates with mechanical aptitude having basic knowledge of precision measuring instruments, hand and power tools. Ability to read and comprehend blueprints and drawings, handbook specifications, equipment manuals, parts lists and other written materials associated with the trade. Must be able to work at high levels under stressful situations, dependable and good communication skills. Physical Requirements: Able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Able to work in low and high temperatures. Able to lift up to 50 lbs. Occasional work in confined spaces. Able to bend, twist and kneel. Able to climb steps and ladders.

Based on Skill Level and Test Scores- Starting Pay $18.738 to $19.083 with opportunities for increases within first year of employment.


Essential Job Functions:

• Services, sets up, operates, maintains, adjusts, make size change overs, and overhauls high speed manufacturing machinery including stamping and forming presses.
• Occasional forklift operation.
• Lubrication, Adjustment, and Maintenance of manufacturing units.
• Runs manufacturing line to maximize production efficiency which includes but not limited to sleeving ends during operator breaks.
• Inspects to insure that product is produced to current standards.
• Has skills to diagnose mechanical and quality problems, determine necessary repairs and restore defective equipment to service.
• Completes all required documentation related to quality, maintenance and production.
• Maintains working area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Performs duties with regard to safety to self and other employees while exercising proper care and protection of company property.
• Responsible for quality of finished product coming off the production units.
• Visual inspection of that finished product.
• Professional interaction with all fellow employees at all times.
• All other duties as assigned my management.
