Free Fishing Day’s June 17-20 – This event was established in 1985 to offer a chance for anglers to fish without the need of a fishing license.  The Illinois Department of Natural Resources announces “No Fishing Licenses” required June 17-20, including the Inland Trout Stamp & the Lake Michigan Salmon Stamp.

1st Annual Spring Fling at the Georgetown Community Center Friday & Saturday – (220 E. West St., Georgetown)  The Georgetown Mural Committee presents this 2-day event featuring 29 vendors selling a variety of products, bake sale, Cookbook sale, & a 50/50 gift basket raffle; 8AM-4PM

Seniors Coffee Time at Danville Public Library – (319 N. Vermilion, Danville) 9:30-10:30AM Seniors 60+ are invited to join us on Fridays in the 1st floor meeting room for games, crafts, conversations & of course, coffee.

Sleepy Creek Vineyards – (Located 3.5 miles south of Oakwood) Winery open 10AM-8PM And, Wieners & Wine," 5-8PM every Friday from April to October.  Sleepy Creek will provide a fire, hot dogs, & the fixings!  Bring your lawn chairs & additional food if you like, but alcoholic beverages must be purchased through the Vineyard.  We have beer, wine, variety of soft drinks, as well as, cheeses, crackers & other snacks.  Seating & service is first come, first served with no reservations.

Word of Life Mt. Zion Love Ministry Dinners – (1535 E. Fairchild, Danville) Catfish dinners & chicken wing dinners are $10 each; Beginning at 11AM

Vermilion County War Museum New Hours – (307 N. Vermilion, Danville) New extended hours: Tuesday through Friday Noon–4PM; Saturday remains 10AM-4PM.  As a Blue Star Museum all active duty military & their families are admitted for Free, Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Sir James & the Giant Wii Games at Danville Public Library – (319 N. Vermilion, Danville) For Children 8-12yrs (under 8 with a caregiver); 2PM.

Vermilion County Speedway – (County Road 1180 E, Oakwood) Full Show; 4:30-11:30PM.  Grandstands: $12/Ages 12 & up, $6/Kids 6-11yrs are $6, Kids 5 & under Free; Pits: $30/Ages 12 & up, $15/Kids 6-11yrs, Kids 5 & under Free.

American Legion Post 210 Dinner – (1600 N. Jackson St., Danville) Menu of Fish, Tilapia, Shrimp, Chicken, Hamburgers & Tenderloins from 5-8PM.  Public is invited!

Music at Kickapoo Landing – Music from 5:30-7:30PM.  Come listen to live music featuring “John McMahon & Friends”.  The Dockside Café offers you dining by the lake and features dinner specials every weekend.  For more information, call 217-446-8399.

Gao Grotto Dinner – (2400 Denmark Rd., Danville) 5:30-7:30PM Hamburgers, tenderloins, or chicken strips with 2 sides choices of Cole slaw, fries, Onion rings, or Baked beans; $7.  All are welcome to our public events!

AMBUCS Friday Nights at Temple Plaza – (102 N. Vermilion St, Danville) Free live music featuring “Monkey’s X”; 6-9PM.  Food and drinks are available at the outdoor stage. 

Open Roller Skating at Illini Skateland7-10PM  Admission is $7.50 + skate rental; if applicable. Family Rate: Up to 6 persons for $35 (one adult must be present).  Batting cages, Miniature golf, & Lazer tag also available.

“Sweets & Spirits with a Twist” at Harrison Park Clubhouse – (1300 W. Voorhees, Danville) The Center for Youth & Family Solutions presents this event featuring wine & music.  Bring your favorite bottle of wine ($10 value & above) or 6-pack of craft beer for a chance to “stock your cellar”; 7-10PM.  Events include a wine tasting by Wyldewood Cellars Winery, live music by Doc Ashton & the Root Canals, & emcee Christopher Hightower.  Tickets are $15 with all proceeds to benefit the children & families served by the Danville office.  For more information, call 217-443-1772.

Hooves of Hope Corral Cinema Interactive Movie Night – (7757 US Route 135, Potomac) Gates open at 7:30PM for this outdoor, interactive showing of “Secretariat”.  Come dressed for the Derby & bring your lawn chairs or blankets.  Admission is Free, & concessions are available for purchase.
