Open Roller Skating at Illini Skateland1-5PM; $6.50 + skate rental.  Family Rate: Up to 6 persons for $35 (one adult must be present).  Lazer tag also available.

The Little Lorraine Theater Presents “Pete’s Dragon” - All Weekend – (324 E. Main, Hoopeston) Shows are: Friday 7PM; Saturday 4:30PM & 7:00PM; Sunday 2:00PM & 4:30PM.  10-year-old Pete claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliot. Follow the adventures as forest ranger Grace sets out to find where Pete comes from, where he belongs, & the truth about this dragon.  All movies are a free will donation with all proceeds going to the Save the Lorraine Foundation.

Vermilion County Basketball Tournament at the Palmer Arena January 14, 16-21 – For complete game schedule, www.palmerarena.com/vermilion-county-basketball-tournament.

All You Can Eat Breakfast at Danville VFW – (8 Pine St) Breakfast buffet; 7-9AM.  Cost is $6 with carryouts available.

Ullr Classic Archery Competition at Danville High School – Opening Ceremonies 8:30AM; First Flight 9:00AM; Awards following final flight at 3:30PM.  Open to the public with a free will donation accepted at the door. Concessions available & tickets for giveaway gift basket drawing.  Proceeds raised will go to promote the JROTC program at Danville High School.

Vermilion County War Museum – (307 N. Vermilion, Danville) Open Saturdays from 10AM-4PM; the museum will be closed weekdays for maintenance & remodeling in the month of January.  As a Blue Star facility this museum offers free admission to active duty military personnel & their families all year.

Sleepy Creek Vineyards – (Located 3.5 miles south of Oakwood) Winery open 10AM-6PM

Vermilion County Animal Shelter Cat/Dog Adoptions at the Village Mall - Noon-4PM

Rescheduled from Jan. 13 - Beauty of Hope Benefit Pageant “Meet & Greet” at Crossroads Christian Church – (3613 N. Vermilion, Danville) This is an informational meeting for the 2017 Pageant; 1PM.  Pageant registration is $25 on this day for all age groups.  All proceeds go towards the American Cancer Society.  Event website: http://BeautyOfHopePageants.com.

Dr. Martin Luther King Day Motorcade/Parade in Danville – Line begins at 10AM at the corner of Main/Logan & procession begins at 10:30AM

Dr. Martin Luther King Day Program at St. James United Methodist Church – (504 N. Vermilion, Danville) Dr. Michael McCoy, St., the National Director of VA Chaplins at the Dept. of Veterans Affairs in Hampton, Virginia will the guest speaker with the Danville MLK Mass Choir under the direction of Mr. Brett Dupree; 11:30AM.   The public is invited with no admission fee.
