Chicken Noodle Dinner & “PINGO” at Pine Crest Elementary School – (505 Kennedy Drive, Georgetown) – The Georgetown-Ridge Farm Education Associations’ Miss Piggy committee is sponsoring its 10th annual Miss Piggy “PINGO” to raise money to benefit the students in the Unit #4 district. The district’s Destination Imagination teams are sponsoring a Chicken Noodle dinner served from 11:00AM-1:30PM in the Pine Crest cafeteria. The Bismarck Lions Club Annual Pancake & Sausage Day - The Bismarck Lions Club is having its annual Pancake and Sausage Day from 7AM-1PM at the Bismarck Elementary School.  Tickets can be bought at the door: $7 for adults; $3 for kids 6-12; kids 5 and under eat for free.  Bulk sausage and patties seasoned and unseasoned are available for purchase, as well as pork tenderloins and spareribs.

Danville High School 20th Annual Midwest Classic Show Choir Invitational Friday & Saturday – (DHS Dick Van Dyke Auditorium) Hosted by Danville High School, this annual event has grown to be one of the most respected show choir competitions in the Midwest with 26 choral ensembles & over 3,000 visitors to the community.  Beginning Friday at 5:30PM featuring the Middle School division competition. Saturday will begin at 8:30AM featuring the High School division. There will also be a soloist competition beginning at 11AM. The public is invited to hear & see great music & visual performances.

IF: Gathering at Danville Second Church of Christ Friday & Saturday - (3350 E. Voorhees, Danville) Ladies, this is a time to gather as a community of believers with special speakers, live music, & fellowship.  The goal is to make the name of Jesus great in through the women in our church, neighborhood & city.  Cost is $30 for the weekend.  Dinner begins at 5PM on Friday.  Saturday events are 9AM-7PM & will include a lunch.  To register: www.secondchurch.com.

President Lincoln’s 207th Birthday Celebration at Danville Public Library - Come celebrate President Abraham Lincoln’s 207th birthday with President and Mrs. Lincoln at “Storytime with the Lincolns” at 1PM in the Danville Public Library’s 1st floor meeting room.  This program is sponsored with the Ward Hill Lamon Civil War Roundtable.

Think PinQue Brunch at New Life Church of Faith – (1419 N. Bowman Ave., Danville) Shay LaChelle will host to support her book release, “A Walk In These PinQue Bootz,” 1-4PM.  Advance tickets only for $25 will include brunch, book & gift.  Any youth 12 & under tickets are $15 and includes brunch & gift.

Danville Dashers Alumni Game at the David S. Palmer Arena – Come see your favorite hockey players from the past compete with a team of Danville’s finest for the “Locals vs. Legends” cup, 4-6PM!  Plan to stay afterwards & watch your Dashers play Dayton.

Danville Fury Baseball hosts BingA Night at Sparky’s Banquet Hall – (409 E. The CUE Club (Contributions by United Samaritans Employees) will host Flesor’s Candy Kitchen for fundraiser - Presence Health Foundation is counting on the sweet tooth of Danville residents to help neighbors in need.  The event is from 7AM to 4PM in Conference Rooms 2 and 3 at Presence USMC.  The conference rooms are located near the cafeteria on the Ground Floor of the hospital.  Flesor’s Candy Kitchen is noted for its delicious, hand-dipped chocolates crafted from natural ingredients and third generation recipes.  The candy is prepared daily in copper kettles in the same store that opened in 1901.  There will be a wide variety of favorite candies from Flesor’s available for sale at the fundraiser.  This fundraising event provides a perfect opportunity to buy the famous candy for your Valentine Day gifts.  Proceeds for the Candy Sale will benefit CUE Club initiatives, including a special employee relief fund, a fund to help patients and visitors and special projects at Presence USMC.

Seniors Coffee Time at Danville Public Library – (319 N. Vermilion, Danville) Seniors 60+ are invited to join us on Fridays in the 1st floor meeting room for games, crafts, conversations & of course, coffee, 9:30-10:30AM.

CRIS Healthy Aging Center offers “Savvy Caregiver” 6-Week Program – (309 N. Franklin St., Danville) The “Savvy Caregiver” program is a 6-week class for family caregivers addressing the concerns of caring for a loved one with dementia, 10AM-Noon. Habitat for Humanity “Souper Bowl” Fundraiser at First Presbyterian Church – (100 N. Franklin, Danville) From 11:00AM to 1:30PM at First Presbyterian Church - choice of soup, cole slaw and dessert will be served; Cost $6.00. Lunch carry out available.  Also 1 quart of soup only can be carried out for $12.00.  One featured soup will be Zuppa Pane, an Italian cabbage soup that was very popular at a downtown restaurant in the 1980s.  Carol Sermersheim will be preparing this favorite from her former restaurant that was located at 138 N. Artist Reception at Danville Art League - (320 N. Franklin) An artist reception with refreshments provided will be held in the Paul Brumaghin Gallery at the DAL from 2-4PM featuring artwork from artist Sherri Easley, an Oakwood native who works in photography, drawing, painting, & sculpture.  Easley’s work will also be on display January & February.

The Little Lorraine Theater presents “Goosebumps” All Weekend - (214 E. Main St., Hoopeston) Shows are Friday 7:00PM; Saturday 4:30PM & 700PM; & Sunday 2:00PM & 4:30PM.  A teenager teams up with the daughter of young adult horror author R.L.  Stine after the writer’s imaginary demons are set free on the town of Madison, Delaware.  All movies are a free-will donation with all proceeds going to The Save the Lorraine Foundation.
