Sleepy Creek Vineyards - (Located 3.5 miles south of Oakwood) Winery open Noon-6PM.  Bloody Sunday Bar has returned - create your own Winey Mary/Bloody Mary-style concoction with a wide selection of ingredients like fresh celery, pickles, olive, tomato juices, Tabasco, pepper, bloody mary mix, & more!  Bring dad out to the winery for Father’s Day!

Vintage Villains presents “Eyes Set to Kill” and others – (103 N. Vermilion St., Danville) Starting at 7PM: “Eyes Set to Kill,” “Airacobra,” “Run 2 Cover,” “UNCERTAINTIES” and “Theodicy” will be performing an all-ages show this Sunday.  Tickets are $10 at the door or $8 in advance.  Doors will open at 6PM.

Pancake & Sausage Breakfast at the Oakwood Fire Station6-10AM

American Legion Post 210 Breakfast - (1600 N. Jackson St., Danville) All you can eat biscuits & gravy and/or pancakes & sausage, coffee and juice. $6.00 donation.  All proceeds go to nurses training.  Public invited.

The Downtown Danville Farmers Market – Farmer’s Markets will continue throughout the summer every Wed. and Sat. morning from 8AM-1PM on the Danville Public Library lawn.  The Danville Public Library building will be closed in observance of Independence Day.  It will reopen on Monday, July 6, at 9AM.

Cycles Plus-Destination Ride - (12 West Woodbury Street, Danville) Cycles Plus will have a Destination Ride Saturday at 9AM starting at Cycles Plus.  We will ride to Oakwood, participate in the July 4th Parade, then ride back.  Total mileage will be around 30 miles, and we will return back at Cycles Plus around 1:30PM.  Also, Cycles Plus will be closed on Saturday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.  We will reopen Sunday from Noon-4PM.  Come in and see the great selection of bikes and apparel in stock!  For more info, visit www.cycles-plus.com.

The Civil War Monument at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Catlin will be rededicated this weekend - The ceremony will be at 10AM in the Soldier’s Circle at the cemetery on W. Vermilion Street near the Catlin Church of Christ.  Members of the Illiana Civil War Historical Society, dressed in historical clothing, will be featured in various roles during the ceremony.  Larry Weatherford of Danville will be the featured speaker.  Eugene Bencomo and Don Smith of Oakwood will present a flag furling ceremony.  Other living history presenters, also in Civil War era uniforms, will fire a volley with their Civil War-era style weapons.  The 105-year-old monument has been cleaned, repaired, painted, and statues added.  Ceremony about 30 minutes – bring a lawn chair if you would like!

33rd Annual Midwest Heritage Quilt Show at the Vermilion County Museum July 1-31 – (116 N. Gilbert St., Danville) 10AM-5PM, Beautiful quilts, some nearly 100 years old, will be on display at the Vermilion County Museum throughout the month of July. Door fee for the show: $2.50 per adult; $1.00 for children 13-17; 12 and under are free.

Village of Oakwood 4th of July CelebrationParade starts at 11AM (line up at 10AM).  Then, Noon-9PM celebration at the park.  Craft & Food Vendors will be at the park all day.  Baby Contest registration from 4-5PM under the park pavilion (0-11 mo., 1 yr., 2 yr., 3 yr., 4 yr. boys & girls) $5 entry each -come dressed and ready as the contest begins at 5PM.  Also at the park from 5-9PM are Inflatables, Carnival Games, Ribeye sandwiches, Pony rides, Beer tent, and a live band featuring “Mike Ellis and the Midnight Sons” (5-9PM)  Parking on the old railroad tracks with a shuttle to the park.  Fireworks at 9:15PM.  Rain day Sunday the 5th.

Village of Rossville 4th of July EventsParade at 11AM beginning at the grade school; Fish Fry by the Legion at Christman Park immediately following the parade; Water Slide by the Rossville Area Fire Protection District at the park; Duck Race at 3PM at the park by the river; AND, FIREWORKS at dusk!

Danville City Pool at Garfield Park Open – Open Noon-6PM daily through August 14

4th of July Street Party at Westville American Legion Post 51 – (115 S. State St., Westville) Street party opens at Noon.  Westville Legion food tent Ribeye sandwiches plus a lot more... 1st band Hillbilly Deluxe starts 2PM.  St. Mary’s 50/50 drawing at 6PM to raise money for Red Cross station in Westville.  If you don't have your ticket yet, they will be sold at the street party.  2nd band, Devillez plays 7-11PM.  Beer truck outside sponsored by Budweiser.  Westville Lions club will have a booth selling tickets for their Labor Day raffle to win a golf cart or Traeger grill donated from Latoz Hardware.  Room still available for flea market space - call Westville American Legion 217-267-2342. There will be a frozen T-shirt contest.  A corn hole tournament (sign up at 11AM) starts at noon.  Lady Bligh Rum Table $7 a bucket/$5 refill - you keep the bucket.

Sleepy Creek July 4th Celebration with Free Music and a special Wieners & Wine – (Located 3.5 miles south of Oakwood) Music & Wieners & Wine, 4-6PM.  Josh Daniel (of the New Familiars) and Mark Schimick, along with Greg Howell will be playing outside by the pond.  This threesome have combined forces on a new album, The Josh Daniel/Mark Schimick Project.  The combination produces a spirited blend of bluegrass, soul, reggae and rock n’ roll music. Weather permitting, we will have a fire going for Wieners & Wine too during the concert.  Bring a lawn chair or blanket, get some friends and enjoy a show before heading to the fireworks. Although the music and wieners will end at approximately 6PM, we will remain open until 8PM.  Note: If it rains, we will not provide hot dogs, but the show will happen inside anyway.

Danville Boat Club Party – Open to public – food & entertainment starting at 5:30PM.  Fireworks at 9:30PM (rain date Sunday the 5th)

Public Hayride at Forest Glen - Meet at the staff office parking lot at 7PM; $1 per person.

33rd Annual Midwest Heritage Quilt Show at the Vermilion County Museum July 1-31 – (116 N. Seating and service is first come, first served with no reservations.

Summer Sounds Concert Series presents Shirley King (BB King’s Daughter) - (Temple Plaza, Downtown Danville) Food and beverages will be available beginning at 5PM each week with entertainment from 6-9PM. The concert series is a free event, open to the public, and fun for the whole family!
