Historic Buildings at Kennekuk County Park & Cabin and Nature Center at Forest Glen open Sundays through Labor Day1-4PM

Kennekuk Environmental Education Center open Sundays - (Kennekuk County Park, 22296 Henning Rd., Danville) Open every Sunday through October 26, 1-4PM.

Open Roller Skating at Illini Skateland 1-5PM; $6.25 + skate rental (Or 1-3PM for $5.25 + skate rental; or 3-5PM for $5.25 + skate rental).  Lazer tag, putt-putt golf, & batting cages also available.

Bumper Cars On Ice - (100 W. Main St., Danville) 2-4PM

Bingo at the VFW Post 728 - (8 Pine St., Danville) Every Sunday at 2PM

Westville Labor Day Pageant at Westville Junior High School – (412 Moses Ave., Westville) Sponsored by the Westville Lions Club, this pageant is for ladies 10-19 years old residing in the Westville school district.  Starts at 6PM; Adult admission is $5.  For more info, contact Tracy Acord 217-304-3981

Vermilion County Speedway Racing - (Vermilion County Fairgrounds) Gates open at 3PM; Qualifying at 6PM with racing starting at 7PM.  Going pink for breast cancer awareness.  See you this Sunday for some dirt flying action!  Let's go racing!

Pianist Jim Hendricks in Concert at Danville United Church of Christ – (618 East Main St., Danville) Pianist Jim Hendricks, Professor of Music at Chicago State University, will be in concert at Danville United Church of Christ, 6:00-7:30PM.  There is no admission charge.  Call 217-442-1385 for more info.

Friday:

Westville Public Library presents Eating Smart, Being Active – (233 S. State St., Westville) The U of I extension office will be presenting this program for adults once a week for 6 weeks starting at 10AM.  Those completing the program will receive a graduation certificate.  The programs will be August 7, 14, 21, 28 and September 4 and 11.  Each program will be approximately 1 hour.  Please call the Westville Public Library at 217-267-3170 to register.

3rd Annual Tennis Shoe Campaign hosted by Financial Legacy Partners of Raymond James every Friday in August – (25 E. Liberty Lane, Danville) Every Friday in August (Friday August 7, 14, 21 & 28) from 10AM-2PM, Financial Legacy Partners of Raymond James will be holding a NEW TENNIS SHOE CAMPAIGN at their office on Liberty Lane - ALL Sizes Welcome!  (For K-12 Students in Vermilion County.)  For the past 2 years, with your help, and our community’s help, we have collected and donated 386 NEW pairs of Tennis Shoes!  The tennis shoes were collected and presented to the Regional Office of Education of Vermilion County, Homeless and Truancy Liaison.  She coordinated and issued shoes to schools in Vermilion County as their needs arose throughout the year.  Company Match: Financial Legacy Partners of Raymond James will donate 1 NEW BRAND NAME pair of TENNIS SHOES for every 5 pair of shoes that are donated! (up to $1,500).

Seating and service is first come, first served with no reservations.

American Legion Post 210 Dinner - (1600 N. Jackson St., Danville) Our weekly "Big Fish & All the Trimmings" from 5-8PM.  Specializing in Tilapia and Catfish and new addition of Frog Legs, along with full menu items to complete your dinner experience.  Hop on over & Hook a Big One - Oh, what a catch!  Public invited.

Northeast Elementary Magnet School PTA “Fun Night” – (1330 E. English St., Danville) – 6:00-7:30PM
